Headteacher's Message

I consider myself to be very fortunate to be Headteacher of such a super school specialising in meeting the needs of children aged between 4 and 7. People visiting the school frequently comment on how happy our children are and how keen they are to talk about their work. They are impressed when they see the quality of our children’s work and how much progress they are making.

Our carefully structured teaching of basic skills is brought to life by our enthusiastic and energetic team of teachers who plan delightful learning experiences. They select topics that naturally excite and interest children and use assessment in everything they do to find out what the children already know and teach them the next step.

Our children are taught in one of our seven year group classes each with a designated teacher and teaching assistant. An additional member of staff works with children needing something extra – whether this is more challenging work for our able pupils or helping our children finding it difficult to learn. Consequently our children leave us with high levels of literacy and numeracy as shown by our end of key stage results.

Children are prepared for life through our programme of events aimed at developing healthy lifestyles. We are very proud of our nature area and the hard work which our Eco Team carries out. Every day our children can be seen walking to school both with their parents and as part of the school's walking crocodile.

Our Cherry Tree Clubs care for children in a familiar environment from 8:00 am to 6:00pm and our Cherry Tree Pre-School enables children from the age of two and a half to become part of our school.

If you would like to see all this in action then all you need to do is to phone the school and make an appointment to see the school.
